Description

Another panoramic composite in my Columbia Gorge series... And I must say that this one has benefited mightily from the feedback I've gotten on previous posts. I had GFX voices in my head as I took this.

Canon SD800IS, eight-shot composite.

I looked back on the similar composition:
Follow The Road by Elite, GFXartist sponsor sirgerg

On this one you have controlled the light and exposure perfectly.
I still think you can go for an even lower angle but this one is again better in that previous post.

Again I suggest that you add a frame.

In the previous shot I urged for having the road more off center which you have done very nicely here! :)

Still waiting to see you comment more on those who take time to comment your work! ;)

Amazing photo +10/10

Can you tell, what is your method of composing pictures togrther in order to achieve single wideangle shot? Are you doing this by hand, and how those single shots look like? I heard that photoshop CS3 have features tha allow to make this fully automaticly.

re: pawlack

I usually shoot my panoramic photos in several pieces. These are combined by hand in Adobe Photoshop CS2. I don't use the software to automate anything, I've got my own tricks by now that work far better than any software could. Usually the images are a single row of portrait-style captures, sometimes I'll go further and add multiple rows together (such as with Winter Gorge).

Here's how it looked before post-processing, compositing and cropping:

I've always been a big fan of yours and always impressed with the continually excellent work you produce. This picture is an amazing capture with an excellent mood. I am blown away by the lighting. Without the gloomy fog and the highlighted center lines, this piece wouldn't be effective in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

I've seen a lot of this kind of crap from photographers...

HOWEVER...

Honestly mate, i think this is one of the most tonally and atmospherically superb photographs i've seen.... and i've seen a LOT of photos. I always kind of browse through photography stuff because nothing really catches my eye that often anymore - because there is so much submitted here and everywhere else. But this was a complete pleasure to view. Wish i had of been there, this is a fantastic shot. **End rare ass-pat **

Oh, and check your messages :)
